James W. Trent Jr.
During his career, James W. Trent Jr. (1948-2021) taught at Gordon College, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, and the University of Southern Mississippi Hattiesburg. He is the author of numerous articles and two books, Inventing the Feeble Mind: A History of Intellectual Disability in the United States and The Manliest Man: Samuel G. Howe and the Contours of Nineteenth-Century American Reform.
