David Fillingim is the author of Redneck Liberation: Country Music as Theology and Extreme Virtues: Living on the Prophetic Edge, and editor, with Michael Graves, of More than Precious Memories: The Rhetoric of Southern Gospel Music, which won the Popular Culture Association’s 2005 Ray and Pat Browne Award for Best Edited Collection in Popular Culture Studies.
