Three Day Premiere cover
Gone With the Wind
The Three Day Premiere in Atlanta

by Herb Bridges

One of the most watched and beloved movies ever made, Gone With the Wind premiered in Atlanta sixty years ago in December 1939. This photographic essay reveals the three-day event from every imaginable perspective, from the movie stars, to what was worn at the ball, the made-over theater to Gone With the Wind merchandise. Many of the photographs in the book have never been published before.

Herb Bridges studied history at the University of Georgia. For years, his avocation and his first love has been Gone With the Wind. His collection of items associated with the book and the movie long ago reached legendary proportions, and is now claimed to be the largest in the world. This is his fourth book on Gone With the Wind, three with Mercer University Press, one with Simon & Schuster.
