The Story of Mercer University Press
Mercer University Press, established in 1979, has published more than 1,000 books. Operated by a ten-member staff, the press publishes more than 40 books annually.
Mercer is the only Baptist-related institution with an active ongoing publishing program. The reputation of the Press significantly enhances the academic environment of the University and carries the name of Mercer throughout the world.
The Press supports the work of the University in achieving excellence and scholarly discipline in the fields of liberal learning and professional knowledge by making the results of scholarly investigation available to the worldwide community.
To this end, the Press:
(1) seeks and acquires manuscripts that contribute to the advancement of knowledge;
(2) publishes monographs and other texts in the humanities, primarily in history, philosophy, religion, and Southern studies; and
(3) disseminates these publications internationally to students, scholars, and libraries.
